General description:
I'll confess that I don't know much about the Brantly B2B helicopter even though it has been around even longer than me!
But I know a lot more now that I've been to see OMAX and its owner, Alec.
If you're the kind of guy that wants a big, fast, modern helicopter, then frankly a Brantly is probably not for you.
However, if you are an enthusiastic leisure fair-weather occasional flyer, then you should considered G-OMAX.
Why? Because it is an iconic aircraft, very well put together, and with an amazing safety record. It flies as fast as a R22, and it is way, way cheaper to maintain.
And if you have ever thought about a Rotorway, then I think you should also look at the Brantly. Like the Rotorway, the Brantly is a Permit to Fly aircraft, so if you feel qualified, you can work on your own aircraft. And you don't have to worry about the 12 year clock ticking like you do with the Robinsons -- the Brantly and all its parts are lifed on flying hours/condition only.
G-OMAX is probably the best example of the B2B in the UK. It's been meticulously maintained and has a fabulous paint job. OK, I only hovered in it, but it was super! Lots of power, lots of noise, lots of shaking and lots and lots of fun.
With great component times left, you can have this piece of flying history for the price of a second hand R22, and we'll help you with a rating if you need one.
Obviously, if you are interested in OMAX, then you'll need to know a lot more, so please don't hesitate to contact us and we'll put you in touch with the current owner.
Interior:
Tan leather
Exterior:
Green/white
